Hamed Zaghw became the chief executive of Aecom in 2017 and was given the responsibility of growing the business with an emphasis on the quality and responsiveness to client needs. Under Zaghws guidance, at the end of the second quarter, the total backlog of projects reached a new record of $50bn, an 18% increase over FY17 (global figures).
Zaghw tells CBNME: Saudi Arabia is a top growth market for Aecom. The types of projects we are seeing there are of a very special nature. They demand the latest technologies and a global capability to be able to deliver them. Were pursuing a number of opportunities there, with a focus on PMO-related activity.
The companys global revenue for FY17 (October 1, 2016 September 30, 2017) was $18.2bn. First quarter revenue (January 1, 2018 March 31, 2018) was $4.8bn. Their envious list of completed Middle East projects include Damac Heights in Dubai; Clemenceau Medical Centre in Dubai; King Faisal Corniche Development, Avenues Project in Bahrain; East Sitra housing project in Bahrain; Four Seasons in Abu Dhabi; and Al Mamoura School in Abu Dhabi.
Zaghw adds: Throughout my time at Aecom, I have maintained a constant focus on quality. I have worked closely with our quality and delivery excellence teams to improve our procedures and create tools that enable our people to deliver with excellence every time.
