With the plethora of projects under its belt, Dubai-based contractor, ALEC, bags the third spot in this years Power Hour. And Kez Taylor, CEO of the company, is a force to reckon with. Under his guidance, ALEC recorded a revenue of AED800mn for the first quarter of 2018 and AED3.1bn for 2017. The contractor completed well-known and much-awaited projects like the Bvlgari Resort & Spa by Meraas, Bluewaters Retail by Meraas, Holiday Inn Festival City, and the Marina Gate 1 project by Select Group.
The contractor claims to have an envious project backlog in excess of AED10bn which includes working on projects like the expansion of the Al Maktoum International Airport, enabling works for Dubai Creek Harbour Retail District, Select Groups Tower 9 project, and many more.
In September last year, the contractor was appointed for the One Zaabeel project in Dubai. The contract scope includes site excavation, preparatory works, and the construction of a seven-floor basement, according to the company. With shoring and piling already completed, all works are currently underway.
The 480,000sqm two-tower, high-rise mixed-use development incorporates luxury residences, a luxury and ultra-luxury hotel, serviced apartments, office spaces, a retail podium, and a panoramic sky concourse. The project, due to be completed in Q4 2020, will also feature the worlds largest cantilever, The Linx, floating at 100m above ground and offering fine restaurants and lounges.
Commenting about the companys plans, Taylor tells: We are having a great year with large opportunity to work on mega-construction projects in Dubai like the Mobility Pavilion at the Expo 2020 site. We have diversified our business believing in the trends of the future coming together at a fast pace into the market.
