San Francisco-based Bechtel is a global engineering giant that posted a turnover of $37.2bn last year. Middle East turnover rose 49% to $103mn for 2015.
Working across infrastructure, the oil and gas industry and and mining and metals, the company employs 53,000 people worldwide, and has been active in the Middle East for more than 70 years starting out in Saudi oil fields.
More recently Bechtel has worked on Khalifa Port in Abu Dhabi, Omans Muscat International Airport, Qatars Hamad International Airport, Saudi Arabias Jubail Industrial City, and Riyadh Metro.
The company also signed a five-year contract extension to continue its longstanding management services work at Jubail and Ras Al Khair industrial cities in Saudi Arabia.
The contracting giant established a centre of excellence in Dubai, UAE in 2013, with the intention of securing construction work in the fields of natural resources, rail, and ports.
