The second in a series of six slides in preparation to lift The Link 100 metres above ground took place on October 13th, 2019. The link can now be seen hanging over The Happiness Bridge. For this phase of the construction of the iconic One Za’abeel, The Link’s Assembly B – 24 meters long and weighing 849 metric tons – was slid 30 meters above the Happiness Bridge from Tower A to Tower B.
“The Link” is an epic panoramic sky concourse suspended perpendicularly to both towers at a height of around 100 meters. The 225 meters long construction is made from composite material of steel and concrete and will feature a record-setting 66-meter cantilever providing 360-degree views of Dubai from its viewing platform. The timeless structure of The Link will house a choice of attractions including Michelin starred restaurants, observation decks, and an infinity pool, providing unmatched immersive experiences and connoting a distinctive lifestyle destination.
One Za’abeel is expected to be completed in Q4 2021.
One Za’abeel is the new iconic mixed-use development by Ithra Dubai, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Investment Corporation of Dubai. It consists of two skyscrapers, Tower A and Tower B, standing at 300 meters and 235 meters respectively, rising from seven levels of basement, three levels of podium for retail and restaurants and 77 high-speed lifts, over 470,000 square meters of total built-up area. Tower A comprises of 263 luxury residences, while Towers B consists of 497 rooms, suites and serviced apartments managed by One & Only Urban Resort an ultra-luxury hotel, in addition of premium Grade A office spaces, a retail podium and a panoramic sky concourse.
